Prof. Hassana Sani Darma

Director, Centre for Gender Studies, Bayero University, Kano. She had her first degree in Education/English, M.Ed (Special Education and Ph.D (Special Education) at Bayero University, Kano. She is the immediate past Head of Department, Special Education and was also Deputy Director (Innovation) in the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Partnership (DRIP) (B.U.K). Her areas of interest are Intervention strategies for Special Needs Persons with expertise in Nutritional Therapy for learning and behavioural disorders. Prof. Darma is a full time member of two Associations namely; National Association for Exceptional Children (NAEC) and National Association for Special Education Teachers (NASET). She is also a Consulting Editor for three Journals namely: Jigawa Journal of Education Jigawa College of Education, Gumel, Jigawa State, Journal of Adult and Special Education, Federal College of Education (Technical), Kano and Bayero Journal of Education, Research and Innovation, (BAJERI), School for Continuing Education, Bayero University, Kano. 


Aminu Mohammed Dukku (Ph.D)

He is the immediate past Head of Department, Sociology, Bayero University, Kano; member of the Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK). His areas of interest include research methods, drug and substance abuse and study of other social problems. An alumnus of the Cleveland State University, Ohio (CSU), Dr. Dukku is a lifetime member of the International Sociology Honor Society (Alpha Kappa Delta). He has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Bayero Sociologist. 




Safiya Ahmad Nuhu (Ph.D)

She is presently the Deputy Director (Training). She is a lecturer at the department of International Law and Jurisprudence, BUK, with research interest in migration law, human rights, humanitarian law and women’s rights. She was the research coordinator, Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF), an umbrella of over 100 CSOs in Kano State. She has worked as research assistant at the Brookings Institution, Washington DC, where she conducted research under the Brookings LSE Project on Internal Displacement, supporting the mandate of the United Nations Secretary General's Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Dr Chaloka Beyani. She has also held the position of associate editor (Africa), for the Journal of Internal Displacement (JID), and was also nominated as a Young African Leader under the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.





Kailu Umar Sa’id

Kailu is a Senior Assistant Registrar and currently holds the position of an Administrative Officer of the Centre for Gender Studies (CGS) Bayero University, Kano who doubles as the Secretary of the Human Resources for Health (HRH) Learning Hub. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration (MPPA). He was the Administrative Officer of the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies, Mambayya House, the Faculty Officer, Faculty of Law, Bayero University, Kano. He is presently a member representing the Congregation at the University Housing Allocation and Maintenance Committee.    


Bilkisu Umar Bayero

Bilkisu is a registered nurse, midwife and nurse educator, with a Higher Professional Diploma in Computer Studies, Bachelor of Nursing Science, Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science, and MS.c Nursing in-view. She was a lecturer in the College of Nursing, Kano and has held the position of Vice Principal, Academics, School of Midwifery, Kano. Bilkisu is presently an Assistant Chief Clinical Instructor at the Department of Nursing Science, Bayero University, Kano. She is a licensed member of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (Kano Branch) and has worked closely with various organisations like PATHS2, MNCH2, NPHCDA, Institute of Human Virology UATH Training Centre. Internationally, Bilkisu has received certificates like that of the HIV Treat 'N care [e] education from University Of Amsterdam, Global Health Project Management from University of Washington, Clinical Management of HIV from University of Washington and World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA). Her areas of interest include medical surgical nursing, maternal and child health, mental health and psychiatry, public health and community nursing and gerontology.



Umar Lawal Bello

Umar is presently the Sub-Dean (Academics), Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and a Lecturer in the Department of Nursing Sciences, Bayero University Kano. He obtained his first degree (BNSc) from ABU, Zaria and MS.c in Community/Public Health Nursing from Tanta University, Arab Republic of Egypt. His areas of research interest are on public health issues, health informatics and RCTs. Umar is a member of the research committee of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), a seasoned examiner and a consultant to Women for Health (W4H) and DFID. He is a member of many national and international professional and academic bodies; he is also a reviewer and editorial board member to many national and international nursing journals.
